Emma Williams
Integrative counsellorAbout Me
I am a fully qualified and experienced integrative counsellor (MBACP). I hold a BACP accredited Professional Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
Seeking to understand is the first step towards making changes. We are all influenced by the people in our lives and the circumstances that we find ourselves in, both past and present, these myriad factors all serve to shape and define us. Sometimes we need help in understanding how the culmination of these experiences can cause us distress and get in the way of being able to live life fully and with ease.
As a therapist my aim is to create a dedicated and safe space in which I can help clients to explore their feelings, beliefs and unhelpful patterns of behaviour in order to move forward and create positive change. I bring warmth, empathy, and a sense of humour. I can be challenging where necessary whilst being supportive and compassionate.
I am client-led in terms of topics discussed and pace of work. I may invite the client to think about things differently or offer an alternative perspective. This is always done with an attitude of unconditional acceptance.
As an integrative therapist I am influenced by humanistic and psychodynamic approaches. This supports a more flexible way of working that values and honours client uniqueness.
