Emma Furr
Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
Hello, my name is Emma Furr MA MBACP (Accred). I am an experienced, qualified, accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist working full time in private practice in the Richmond and Twickenham area.
It can sometimes be challenging to find the right counsellor and psychotherapist, but I will tell you a little bit about how I work and what I believe in, and then if you would like a telephone chat before you decide to book to see me, you are very welcome.
As an integratively trained psychotherapist I seek to put the individual client first and foremost, whilst also being able to draw on a number of different approaches, including psychodynamic, humanistic, existential and relational. I use cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) whenever it is appropriate.
I work with individuals, aged 16 and over, and couples on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.
I have worked with a broad range of issues, most recently with Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust offering brief psychodynamic therapy. I have also worked with Kingston Women's Centre, for three years, offering long term integrative psychotherapy, and The Mulberry Centre offering individual counselling to patients, their carers, and those bereaved through cancer. I am an Anxiety UK approved therapist trained to work with anxiety disorders.
Counselling and psychotherapy can provide a safe, confidential, supportive space for you to bring any problems you are having and explore difficult thoughts and feelings. You might seek counselling and psychotherapy because you are struggling to cope, feeling dissatisfied with your life, having problems with relationships, trying to process a loss or a change, or finding it difficult to make a big decision. You might want to make sense of things that have happened in the past, think about your future, to feel calm and centred or just get some extra support to help you through a tough time.
I am a recognised AXA PPP Healthcare practitioner registered with the Healthcode Private Practice Register.
