A bit about me...

What happens when I contact you?
Once you book an 'Alignment Call' with me we are able briefly discuss over a secure video call or telephone (if you're in the UK) why you're thinking about therapeutic life coaching and find out if we're a good fit. If we are, we can go ahead and look into which packages would suit you. If it doesn't feel right for either of us, I may be able to recommend someone else to help.
How do you work?
I work online via secure video (or via telephone if necessary) meaning that you are able to remain in the comfort of your own home and safe time and money travelling to and from an office.
I'm an integrative therapist, which means I've trained in a number of different modalities including CBT, Person-Centered, Humanistic, TA (transactional analysis) and mindfulness and choose a combination of approaches based on my client's needs at the time. Having trained as a yoga teacher and mindfulness teacher as well as a therapeutic life coach I also incorporate a more active approach with accountability and solution-focused methods built in, as well as some meditation if appropriate.
The sessions are your time. So we can talk, or not talk, and I certainly would never try to force you into talking about something you didn't want to. It's a very client-led process whereby you get to explore what is troubling you, and I'll feedback what I heard from you and ask questions which help you to think about what you're experiencing from different perspectives to gain greater clarity and understanding of your situation and feelings.
Whilst it is never a walk in the park to work through your emotions, most of my clients have expressed how much better they feel for bringing their deeper feelings to the surface and having a safe and neutral place to explore them rather than trying to hide them all the time.
What's it like working online? Is it as effective? Do I need any special equipment?
Working online is a fairly new but fantastic way to work. Working online means we can still see each other, just via a computer or smartphone screen, and you remain in the comfort of your own surroundings, cutting out travel time altogether. The coaching is the same as it would be face to face, and, if you have a poor internet connection, I can also do audio only calls. The biggest difference is that for working online, you'll need somewhere quiet where you won't be overheard (or a time when you will be on your own), rather than driving to a office.
I use a secure video connection for the online work, which is a free and easy to use piece of software that you can get on your computer or smartphone. You need an internet connection and a reasonable amount of data allowance. If you have any questions about this please contact me and I can help.
How many sessions will I need?

Training and qualifications
I completed my Advanced Integrative Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling in 2014, following a year long placement at the City and East London Bereavement Service, previously funded by the NHS and based out of the Royal London Hospital. Prior to this I had completed a Certificate in Counselling, a Certificate in Hypnotherapy, the Level 3 CYQ Yoga Teacher qualification and a BA (Hons) in Human Resource Management and had a successful career in HR and Operations Management before retraining. I also completed my Mindfulness Teacher training in 2016, having studied this as part of my yoga teacher and counselling training and am currently completing a further Certificate in Therapeutic Life Coaching.
My experience has taught me that it is often not about a specific tool or technique brought into the therapy room, but rather the genuine human connection between coach and client which can be of greatest benefit. To know that there is someone who isn't going to judge you, or anyone else, outside of your day to day life, who supports you and believes in you is something sadly not enough people have experienced. This external support goes a huge way towards assisting you to build your own strength and resilience and to help you heal whatever it is that has been stopping you reaching full happiness.
