About Me

Dear reader,

Whatever difficulties you are currently facing, reaching out and seeking to enter therapy is a courageous step.

This is indicative of your readiness to start connecting to your pain whilst being listened, witnessed and gently guided by a professional.

Entering therapy is an act of faith on your part and I treat that with respect. I offer to create a safe, non-judgemental space where you can express in confidence.

I engage with clients by working with the three dimensions: the level of the body, the level of the mind and the level of soul. This way of working is an integration of different approaches, tailored to each individual client in an unique way.

The soul aspect is a way of working transpersonally (beyond that which is personal) and this forms the foreground of my therapeutic style. It informs the other approaches I trained to draw upon (humanistic, psychodynamic, existential).

I find that working in this way, clients have been able to gain a richer understanding of their process and of the obstacles in living the life they desire.

Apart from working with the psychological layer, this approach opens up the possibility to look beyond it. It is meaning-based. Using mindfulness, dreamwork, creative imagination and CCPE's unique elements model in the therapy room helps us move through the different levels of consciousness that are available to us. This allows you to approach the dilemmas you are experiencing from a new perspective.

For example, what needs developing in you to move forward?

What does this mean for you as a client?

This way of working utilises the valuable information kept in your body (through your sensory experience, felt-sense, physical symptoms, somatic clues), your heart centre (through feeling), your mind (through thinking) and your intuition (through a perceptive way of knowing something). This means that where relevant in sessions, I will invite you to connect to these different parts of yourself.

Creative work and mindfulness sit at the base of my practice.

In our uniqueness, we are gifted to receive and process information naturally and more comfortably by using one or more of these, for example, yours could be thinking (this is based on a Jungian approach of knowing another). Getting to know your preferred way of experiencing the world the world allows me to tailor my approach in working with you.

With so many types of therapies to choose from, it can perhaps be confusing to decide. In my experience so far, the modality used falls into the background of the therapeutic relationship when looking at the outcomes of therapy.

If you choose to contact me, we will first meet for an introductory session where we can get a feel of each other and discuss what brings you here. Towards the end of the session, we will have an understanding of whether we will meet again. If we decide to work together, after the first six sessions, I tend to pause and check in with where we are and your experience so far. This allows both of us to decide whether long-term work would be beneficial.

I currently offer weekly online sessions (via Zoom or Skype). My practice is open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. When the time comes to return to face-to-face work, I can offer to meet at my training institute in Little Venice, Paddington.

About me:

I started my psychotherapy training in 2015. I obtained a Certificate in the Foundations of Counselling and Psychotherapy and continued my training on the Diploma course at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education. I have been seeing clients since 2016 working with the Caravan Drop In Counselling at St James Church in Piccadilly, and Fresh Start Psychotherapy. I also hold an MA in Behavioural Studies from the department of Psychology at Aberdeen University in Scotland.

During my training, I have continuously worked in an educational setting, helping young adults with special educational needs, in particular those living with an autism diagnosis.
