Dr Paul GardenPsychologist
While personality, anxiety and emotional trauma remain areas of expertise, I am interested and experienced in working with adults who want to engage in psychotherapy to think about themselves more deeply and understand themselves better. Equipped with degrees from London Universities, I have spent several years working in the NHS in a number of services, providing psychological treatment for various issues, ranging from low intensity to higher levels of psychological complexity (primary, secondary and tertiary care services).
As a psychologist, I am trained and experienced with a range of psychological models. I mainly work from psychoanalytic and existential-humanistic approaches. My experience shows that this allows those who are struggling emotionally to make meaningful sense of their experiences and to challenge repetitive patterns that they find themselves feeling stuck in.
I am a Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered practitioner psychologist, chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS), and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP).
I offer an initial consultation session (£60) for you to describe in detail the issues that have brought you to therapy, and to ask me any questions you might have, and for me to suggest what your treatment might involve. Have a look at my website to find out more about the way I work, and please feel free to contact me if you think I can be of help to you.
I operate a private practice from the Harley Street district of central London, and also from Angel in the City of London.
