Dr Leyla Rafieian Taheri
Psychodynamic psychologistAbout Me
I am an experienced and enthusiastic psychologist with Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. I run a private psychology practice in Leeds City Center offering therapeutic services to individuals and couples.
If you are experiencing stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, relational problems or any other unwanted experiences and are seeking resolution, you have come to the right place. Effective and evidence based therapies are available in a highly confidential environment where you can begin your healing process.
Meeting with a psychologist for the first time may seem daunting but in my experience the initial hesitation surpasses quickly and most people feel relieved and empowered after the first session. I am passionate about helping you find out how you can solve your difficulties and offer your first appointment at half price.

Training and qualifications
I have completed the doctoral degree in Psychology which ensures that I am highly trained and experienced in providing therapy. Over the years I have furthered my training in Transactional Analysis and as an Expert Witness assisting the courts in Civil Law cases.
I studied Counselling Psychology as this branch of psychology recognizes the primacy of the therapeutic relationship as well as psychological theory. Building therapeutic relationships with my clients is something I find of utmost importance. I am keen to provide you with a safe and confidential environment to expand your self confidence and to feel empowered in life.
Previously, I have worked in the NHS with young people who suffer from psychosis. I have also worked for charities with trauma survivors presenting with chronic anxiety and a variety of other mental health difficulties. Currently, I work in private practice as it is my preferred area, allowing me to work with people from various strands of life affected by diverse issues such as anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, pain management, sexual difficulties, sleeping problems, stress, OCD, addictions and others.
I abide by ethical standards set by the British Psychological Society and the Health and Care Professions Council UK. This way you can feel reassured that the treatment you receive is ethical and evidence based.
