Donna Harding
Person-centred/humanistic counsellorAbout Me
Hi, I am a person-centred counsellor, this refers to the school of psychology I have studied and trained in. Person-centred counselling puts emphasis on the client’s own ability to heal and grow, working in ways that develop self-awareness and build an inner trust of your own capabilities.
I believe that everyone, at some point in their lives can benefit from personal therapy, I believe this for many reasons but mostly because I feel the relationship we have with ourselves is one of the most important ones. Sometimes our childhood and past experiences, our day to day lives and the pressures we are under, or perhaps the schedules we keep and the roles and responsibilities we have, can take us away from who we truly are. Some of us have suffered a traumatic event, bereavement, developed a dependency on drugs or alcohol, have feelings of despair, disconnection or a lack of belonging and we can become lost.
I offer a professional approach that is honest, empathic and non-judgemental. I am warm and patient and place a lot of value in people feeling heard.
Reaching out for support can be daunting and you may wonder if counselling will help, Counselling can help broaden your awareness and you can start to feel better.
