Devaki Thomas
Body psychotherapyAbout Me
I am a Body/Movement Psychotherapist located in SE London UK, with an MA in Dance Movement Psychotherapy from Goldsmiths, University of London. I have worked with clients ranging in age from 8 to 60 years and bring a strong sense of empathy and passion for helping clients understand and express themselves to enable more self-compassion and self-esteem.
I believe everyone has the capacity to move through places of trauma held in the body through building trust within the therapeutic relationship and using the body to express difficult emotions. I am empathic and person-centred with a passion to share the healing benefits of movement psychotherapy with all ages. I also work freelance as a musician (drums and voice) and teach Indian dance and Hatha Yoga. With a background in teaching dance, movement and music, working with youth and organizing music festivals I have gained comfort and confidence working with people.
