Integrative counsellorAbout Me
Do you suffer from anxiety or depression? Do you please others first? Do things have to be perfect for you? Do you overthink? Is life overwhelming at times? Do you have low self-esteem / self-confidence? I can help with all of these issues. Currently taking on new clients.
I consider myself an integrative counsellor using a Humanistic approach.
I offer a gentle approach to help you make any changes you wish, to pursue a more fulfilling life so you can be the best you can.
I offer general counselling to adults, and have a particular interest in Highly Sensitive Persons and parents of Highly Sensitive Children. I’m also knowledgeable in High Sensation Seeking and the particular demands it can bring.
I have developed further my interest in high sensitivity. In June 2018, I went to an international gathering attended by people from all over the world, which included a talk by Dr. Elaine Aron via Zoom on the latest research. Following attending a course at the NCHS in Hampshire, I’ve been a HSP mentor since Oct 18.
I first became interested in counselling in the late 1990’s when working for a precursor to the NHS 111 service. From 2006-09 I studied at the Wealden Institute in Crowborough, East Sussex, and volunteered at the Bohemia Counselling Centre in St. Leonards-on-Sea. I also studied at the Iron Mill College, Exeter, Devon from 2013-15; I was a volunteer for Counselling for Carers between 2014-17.
Outside of counselling, I enjoy being a dad, cycling, travelling, time in nature and visiting the coast.
