David Clancy
Psychoanalytic psychotherapistAbout Me
I am a UKCP registered Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and have been practicing for over 22 years. I offer Therapy to individuals and couples. People attend Therapy for numerous reasons, a common denominator may be that they are desperate and hopeless, having tried many ways of trying to ease and alleviate their distress and difficulties without success. Therapy is an opportunity to make meaning of the difficulties you may be experiencing by exploring the underlying aspects of the problem and finding real life ways of making change that is both positive and adaptive. Enabling someone not only alleviate the symptoms, but also enrich their lives and relationships in a way that is longstanding. The relationship with the Therapist offers a safe-protected space in which whatever is of bother can be freely spoken about and explored in the context of the therapeutic relationship, this offers and opportunity to understand difficulties within the therapeutic relationship, which I believe makes it less abstract and more 'alive' therefore offering real and meaningful change.
