I am a psychotherapist and counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and and accredited member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

Whether or not you have experienced counselling or psychotherapy before, the process of finding a therapist might feel daunting and make you wonder whether the therapist will understand your issues and be able to work with you without passing judgement.

I offer one-to-one counselling and psychotherapy, and I provide a space for you to open up and explore difficult issues in a safe and non-judgemental environment, whatever the issues presented. Depending on the individual situation, you will then be enabled to review your patterns of behaviour and relationships and take action towards change. The general aim is to help you find more satisfying ways of living your life. In addition, you might have specific aims that I can help you achieve.

During the first consultation I will ask you to share your reasons for seeking counselling and psychotherapy at this point of your life. I will also ask you some questions to get to know you and have an idea of what you would like to gain from therapy. I normally offer weekly sessions at a time that suits both of us.Together we will then formulate the most appropriate therapeutic plan to suit your needs.

I have experience of working with a variety of issues including:

- Depression

- Anxiety

- Loss and bereavement

- Trauma

- Family and Relationship difficulties

- Difficulties in relation to sexuality

- Sexual identity issues

- LGBT issues

- Issues about masculinity

- Bullying

- Stress

- Isolation

- Identity issues

- Low self-esteem and self-worth

In particular I have extensive experience of working with Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual and clients.

The way I work is integrative which means I am able to draw from different therapeutic approaches such as humanistic, psychodynamic, relational, existential and body psychotherapy depending on the individual’s needs. This way I am able to tailor my approach to each situation that is brought up by the individual during our sessions.

Attachment theory has been the main focus in my work as a therapist. Our difficulties very often stem from our early experiences with our caregivers. These early relationships have an impact on people's present behaviours, affects and relational patterns. I help clients explore the origins of their current difficulties and together we find the most effective way to work through them.
