Clare Simmonds Psychodynamic psychotherapist , HP9
Sometimes, we can experience life as being very challenging and difficult. We might find ourselves experiencing feelings of ongoing anxiety or depression, or that we are distressed by a persistent sense that that are not able to live our life in the way we want to, relate to others authentically, or achieve the things we want to accomplish.
Psychotherapy can provide a fruitful space for exploring these difficulties. Through therapy, it becomes possible to explore the underlying reasons for these repeating circumstances and feelings, allowing us to begin to free themselves and make constructive changes in our lives.
Whatever brings a person to therapy, I am interested in working alongside them, to help foster a better understanding about what underlies the difficulties they are experiencing.
I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy and counselling. The duration of therapy depends on a client’s needs and concerns, and is something we would discuss in initial sessions.
I work from two consulting rooms: Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire (HP9) and central London.
My Beaconsfield practice is on Ledborough Lane, which is a 4 minute walk from Beaconsfield train station. There is off-street and free street parking available.
My London practice is located on Southwark Bridge Road, a 5 minute walk from London Bridge, Southwark or Borough tube stations.
Training and qualifications
I gained my PG Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at WPF, a well established and respected psychotherapy training institution in London.
I am also trained in Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) which is a time-limited model of therapy occurring across 16 weeks, focused on treating anxiety and depression. It explores difficulties in the past that continue to affect the way people feel, behave and relate to others in the present.
I am a professional member of the FPC (The Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling), and am a registered member of the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy). I adhere to the code of practice and ethics of these professional bodies.
