Christopher SolomanIntegrative counsellor
If you feel that you deserve greater happiness or peace of mind then counselling may well be for you. Seeking a professional counselling is one of the most effective ways of improving mental health and can improve your quality of life.
I trained as a counsellor after many years of working as a chef because I realised that there is a huge need in society to help people with psychological and emotional problems. I trained as an integrative counsellor giving me a toolkit of ways to address problems of the mind, heart and soul. I work holistically to enable a person to put themselves back into balance. I realise that visiting a counsellor is a courageous act and will treat you with compassion, respect and gentleness.
Although I work with a variety of issues, I specialise in anxiety-including OCD, panic attacks and Generalised Anxiety Disorder-and addictions. I am a member of the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Practitioners and have worked extensively in the field of alcohol, tobacco. porn/sex addiction, heroin and cocaine. I also run a men's therapy group which can can found at www.yourtimetotalk.com which has an online support group for those that has found their addictive behaviour worsen as a result of lockdown. I have an interest in male mental health, believing that this is a subject that needs more attention, and work with male anger, sexuality, depression, anxiety and abuse.
I also see people who have survived cults, and abuse at the hands of religious institutions.
I am a registered member of the BACP, working by their ethical framework. Confidentiality is at the heart of counselling and I take this very seriously
