Clinical psychologistAbout Me
Dr Christopher McCormack is a Clinical Psychologist offering specialist psychological assessment and treatment for a wide range of difficulties. He has received doctoral-level training in a variety of therapeutic approaches: psychodynamic, systemic, and cognitive and behavioural therapies. This means that he can draw on a wide variety of psychological theories and models to make sense of your difficulties and plan highly effective treatment plans, which are specifically tailored to your needs. He has extensive experience in helping individuals and couples with sexual difficulties, such as painful sex, low desire, erection difficulties, and trouble reaching orgasm. He has a specialist interest in anxiety disorders, such as OCD and health anxiety, and the application of cognitive and behavioural therapies in their treatment.
Alongside private practice, Dr McCormack holds two NHS positions. Specifically, he works in the liaison mental health team at Basildon University Hospital, providing psychological assessment and treatment to inpatients and outpatients, across medical specialities, as well as offering supervision and consultation to other clinicians. He also works in the HIV and Sexual Health service at the Royal London Hospital, where he sees patients experiencing psychological difficulties associated with their HIV or STI diagnosis, as well as offering specialist assessment and treatment for individuals and couples presenting with sexual difficulties.
