Dr Christine May Psychologist ,
I am a qualified clinical psychologist, trained to work a range of people and difficulties. I am warm, caring and compassionate and able to provide a safe, non-judgemental space for you to share and explore your difficulties openly. Together we will work to understand how they have developed and what can be done to improve your wellbeing and quality of life.
There are many ways to approach issues and as a clinical psychologist I am able to use a variety of evidence-based psychological therapies. This enables me to work flexibly and tailor support to your needs. I will work with you to understand what your goals and values are and how we can work together to improve things for you. The approaches I use most frequently include cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), compassion focused therapy and mindfulness techniques.
I have experience working with:
Anxiety, including panic attacks, generalised anxiety and OCD
Low mood and depression
Relationship and family difficulties
Confidence and self-esteem
Adjusting to life changes
I look forward to hearing from you so we can begin our journey and get to know each other.
