About Me

It isn't always easy to talk to friends or family when you're feeling lonely, anxious or overwhelmed. As a London-based psychotherapist my aim is to offer a warm, safe and supportive space where you can express your thoughts and feelings without fear that I will judge you. Although many people who seek therapy feel they ought to be able to bounce back, or snap out of their sadness, it is normal to feel overwhelmed at times. No one is exempt from painful feelings and setbacks – and from needing extra help from time to time.

In our weekly sessions we would explore the difficulties you face, gain an understanding of how you experience life and identify what matters most to you. As you start to grow in self-awareness, therapy can help you to think differently about yourself and look at things with fresh eyes. You might perhaps begin to recognise those critical thoughts that tell you you’re not good enough, or start to let go of the unrealistic expectations you set yourself.

Everybody’s life story is different, but clients typically seek my help for everything from relationship problems and low self-worth to undealt-with issues from their past. Many have spoken of their feelings of fear, emptiness and disconnection brought on by lockdown, as well as their problems readjusting to everyday life as things begin to open up.

Other reasons clients seek my help include bereavement and the complex feelings that often accompany it, as well as the multiple losses of life, whether it’s the loss of a home, a job or life as you once knew it.

Sometimes clients opt for long-term therapy, preferring to keep things open-ended, other times they feel that six to 12 sessions is sufficient. In my current practice I work with both long and short-term clients.

Therapy can be challenging at times, but it can also be uniquely rewarding. Over time it can bring clarity and insight, empowering you to make positive changes to your life.
