About me

I am a BPC registered Psychodynamic Psychotherapist. I offer long term, open-ended therapy as well as short term work anything under 24 sessions . My practice is in person in Leyton and I can also offer sessions online.  With my practice, I create a calm, non-judgmental and enquiring space to think with you about any difficulties that you might be facing in your life.  As a full member of the BPC, I abide by their ethical framework.  I have over 5 years experience working in specialist psychotherapy units in the NHS offering up to 18 months of therapy and I am currently working as a University Counsellor and Mental Health Practitioner. I also have experience working with students in Further Education. I have worked often with students and I can help with student specific issues related to relationships, workload, stress and anxiety.  My approach is a psychodynamic one, which means that I will work collaboratively with you to try identify patterns in your life that you may feel are unhelpful or which are causing you distress. We might think together about how your past is affecting you in the present or how your patterns of thinking or relationships are related to your unconscious mind and the relationships you had when you were younger. I aim to create a space in which you can feel free to express all parts of yourself, without judgement but with a focused lens. Often it is what we hide from ourselves that causes us pain and we will aim to uncover this in our sessions. Here are some of the things that I can help with:   Depression Grief and loss Struggles with feelings of guilt or shame Problems with relationships and intimacy Anxiety and stress Low self-esteem or self-image Difficulties with identity and belonging Navigating life transitions

I trained for 5 years in psychodynamic psychotherapy and The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. In that time I undertook numerous placements in specialist, long-term psychotherapy units in the NHS. I have undertaken an MA in the Foundations of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and further BPC-accredited qualifying training in Inter-cultural Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
