About Me

Life is like waves in the ocean, there are ups and there are downs. What determines our mental health is how we deal with these highs and lows. We all have resilience with us but sometimes, we need a little help to get back at the front foot again.

If you are going through a difficult time and are looking for one to one support or just want to explore and work on yourself, I can help you.

My name is Azka Butt. I am a qualified counsellor and a registered Member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy MBACP. I am passionate about working with women and empowering them. We all are resilient and just need the right support to come out of any difficult scenario. I enjoy working holistically with the client, not only focusing on the better understanding of yourself but to also have an insight into your own behavioural patterns and emotional state. As a result, you develop positive behaviours and develop strategies to practise a positive lifestyle.

I have been working within the charity sector for past ten years. I worked at the Watford Women's Centre as a volunteer counsellor for five years. I am currently working with Home-Start Watford providing counselling to parents and carers.

I am passionate about Women's empowerment. I believe that if we can take control of our own lives, we can become the best version of ourselves.

Having the training in Integrative Counselling helps me to tailor my approach to suit my clients.

I use the "Person-Centred Approach" at the core of my work, which means I put my clients at the centre of my work and offer them empathy and unconditional positive regard.

I use T.A and CBT along with the person-centred approach.

T.A or Transitional Analysis is helpful to work on existing behaviour and recognise the positive or negative patterns.

I also use CBT, which is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to work with anxiety.

I help women who are going through anxiety, depression, and panic attacks. I also help with building self-esteem, building up confidence, recognising unhelpful patterns and building new ones.

I am experienced in helping clients who have difficulties with:

·  Depression/suicidal thoughts

·  Stress

·  Relationship difficulties

·  Panic Attacks

·  Anxiety

·  Bereavement

·  Childhood issues

·  Abuse (physical, sexual & other forms)

·  Depression, and

·  Low self esteem

I love helping people to gain control of their lives by developing sense of accountability, building boundaries and being assertive.

I will work with you holistically, helping you to work on yourself so you have better control over your life.

I offer counselling English, Urdu and Hindi.
