PsychotherapistAbout Me
About me
Contact me on: +447985 440014 / +441702 414452. I have ten years of experience as a psychotherapist and twenty years of experience working in mental health care settings (as an Occupational Therapist). I work with people experiencing depression, or feeling sad, anxiety (incl. generalised anxiety disorder), panic, phobias, anger management difficulties, and work related stress. Often people attend as a result of traumas or family or relationship problems (separation, divorce, affairs, betrayals) or when struggling with a bereavement. To this end I am currently undergoing further training and supervision in emotionally focussed family therapy.
I see clients from Southend-on-Sea, Essex and it's environs: Westcliff-on-Sea, Basildon, Canvey Island, Benfleet and Hockley, plus more of Essex
My Approach
I use a solution (Outcome) focussed model. This means that whilst we address your key concerns and reasons for attending psychotherapy, we also make connections between what you say and its relationship to your desired outcomes (there tends to be a natural connection between the two).
I recognise that you are the key agent of change in your process; even if you do not have this self-belief, I hold this belief for you until you do. We work at your pace.

The key aspects of how I work are:
To support you to promote balance and thus health in your day to day life. This includes looking at your behaviour and thinking patterns and how these can be modified to improve your experiences.
The aim is to help you work through struggles and difficulties by addressing the underlying causes and help you to make sense of your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and ways of relating to both yourself and others.
How can Psychotherapy help?
You have the opportunity to:
1) Meet regularly with a psychotherapist, in a constructive environment and be heard.
2) Explore your choices and the ways you can move forward, in a safe environment.
3) Learn new skills, coping strategies and work towards creating behavioural change.
