About Me

I offer a calm and confidential space. I support you to explore and better understand your feelings, and any challenges or difficulties you may be experiencing. I work with people of all ages, cultures and faiths, including those with disabilities. Wheelchair access can be arranged.

I believe counselling is a collaborative and creative process. We will work together taking care to consider your unique needs. With me, you will be accepted and listened to attentively and with patience. You may like to simply talk. Or you may choose a creative activity such as doodling, drawing, painting or creating your own patterns in sand.

Some people find it easier and calming to be doing something while speaking. Or while they are quietly thinking about what they want to say.

Another creative activity is forming mini-worlds in sand. From a basket of small and diverse items, you can explore, choose and place them in the sand. Sometimes the words you might want to speak are difficult to say. Holding something and placing it in the sand, can help words come more easily.

My clients say they find me patient, compassionate and ‘down to earth’. They say I hear and accept them as they are; I don’t tell people what to do.

It has been a true pleasure working with you. I have learned a great deal. N.A.

Thank you so much for all your  wisdom and care every step of the way. A.N.

I trained as a ‘person centred’ counsellor. Simply put, this means I believe people know themselves best. I try to understand and accept you, and to be non-judgemental.

I listen to you very carefully to understand what you are trying to say. To be sure I am understanding clearly, I tell you what I think I understand. You clarify whether I have understood correctly. Through this conversation, you can come to understand yourself better, and come to feel happier.

I have nearly 20 years’ experience as a counsellor and am an accredited member of the BACP. I working in accordance with their ethical framework. I am also a qualified supervisor.

Please call me for a chat. I hope to be the right counsellor for you.
