Annie Jones
Psychodynamic counsellorAbout Me
I welcome clients to my comfortable practice room in the Cambridgeshire village of East Hatley.
I am an experienced therapist who has worked extensively with depression, anxiety, compulsive behaviours, relationship issues and loss. I have also supported clients in recovery from trauma. Before qualifying as a counsellor I worked for a number of years for a major accountancy firm and an investment bank, so I am very aware of how challenging it may feel to find a balance between your personal and professional life.
I believe that current distress can often originate in early experiences and relationships but, with support, we all have the resources to overcome obstacles and live life in a more fulfilling way. By identifying the underlying causes of difficulties we allow ourselves to experience real and lasting change, and to find a new sense of freedom and choice.
This is an especially difficult time when so many of us are faced with unprecedented challenges and situations as a result of the pandemic. My aim is to provide you with the space and time to examine issues which may be difficult to discuss, even with friends and family, in the context of a warm, confidential and non judgemental counselling relationship. My work is always client led; the agenda is yours and we will work together at a pace that is comfortable and appropriate for you. Every client relationship is unique - your personal goals and specific needs will be at the centre of our work together.
