Ann Davis
Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
I am currently offering free therapy to a limited number of NHS frontline workers, please contact me for more details.
I offer connection, choice, creativity, humour and integrity. I aim to make therapy as simple, transparent and effective as possible. I work with warmth and sensitivity, so you are seen and heard on a deep level. I am not afraid of feeling fear or sadness or being stuck in a dark place. I cannot ‘fix’ you, and I won’t know all the answers to your questions, but my love of my work, 10 years of experience and my investment in helping my clients, helps me to ask some pretty useful questions. I believe that I can empower you to discover your own answers, to trust yourself and to create lasting change.
Issues I work with:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Relationship issues
- Family issues
- Addictions
- Stress
- Transitions
- Self-esteem
- Chronic pain
- Trauma
- Eating disorders: anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorders
I work collaboratively with you to identify your aims for therapy and I tailor my approach to meet your needs, focussing more or less on:
- symptom reduction
- using diagrams to explore and clarify
- mindfulness
- body based regulation and trauma work
- behavioural approaches to stabilise symptoms
- working with metaphor, imagination and images to deepen self-expression, self-understanding and to see new perspectives
To do this I draw from a range of established evidence based models including neurobiology, attachment theory, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, gestalt, mindfulness, trauma theory, Transactional Analysis and Internal Family Systems.
Experience:
I have worked for the NHS, in private clinics and the third sector. I have experience in community mental health, adult psychiatry, palliative care and working with children in schools. I have run psychotherapy groups as well as working with individuals for a number of years in various settings. I have specialist experience with eating disorders from my work in a London NHS impatient hospital and at a leading London private outpatient clinic.

Fees
I do not charge for the initial consultation
£80 per 50 minute session. Please contact me by email or phone to discuss concessions and individual circumstances.
I recognise that many people have demanding jobs and lives that mean they are unable to attend therapy at the same on a weekly basis. I have a number of clients who have found it useful to have longer sessions less frequently. Please contact me if you would like to discuss this option.
