Anita Day
Person-centred/humanistic counsellorAbout Me
There's more to counselling than just listening and asking how you feel. You might be asking, what do I bring that's different?
I bring metaphors to help paint the picture that's sometimes too hard to describe in words. I bring humour. I bring care, attention, and a non-judgemental attitude. I bring me, the real me. And if I bring the real me, then I'm asking you to bring the real you. Deal?
About Me:
I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor, a registered member of the BACP, and I hold professional indemnity insurance so you can be assured you are in safe hands. I have experience counselling in a range of agencies voluntarily - from young people therapy, to general counselling, and also specialist counselling in alcohol/substance misuse and childhood sexual abuse.
Prior to joining the counselling world, I was a senior manager in a third-party logistics company, whereby among other things I developed and coached my team to progress. I get great satisfaction from seeing other people succeeding and achieving their goals.
How I work:
I offer you the space to dig deep into what has been troubling you, how this has impacted your life, and help you find a deeper sense of what you are like as a person.
Types of therapy:
I offer traditional in person therapy (in Mansfield or Kirkby in Ashfield), walking therapy, online video therapy through zoom or telephone counselling.
