About me

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my profile. I’m Dr Ana Costa (you can call me Ana), a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience supporting adults through emotional and psychological challenges. I’ve worked extensively in the NHS and in private practice, offering both short-term and longer-term therapy. My passion lies in helping people not just reduce distress, but lead meaningful, values-driven lives. I believe therapy should be an empowering, collaborative experience. You bring the expertise of being you; I bring psychological knowledge and tools to help you navigate difficult thoughts and emotions, and move toward the life you want. I offer evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Where helpful and aligned with your goals, I also gently explore how past experiences may be influencing present challenges. My approach is always tailored to your unique needs. I’ve worked with individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, and I deeply value a respectful, person-centred approach. I aim to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and understood—with dignity, empathy, and collaboration at the heart of our work. I understand that finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming—I’ve been there myself. That’s why I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation, so we can meet before you decide to book a session. Feel free to contact me via Welldoing or through my website: dranacosta.com I look forward to hearing from you.
