Alex Rowan
Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
I am trained from a humanistic perspective, drawing from a number of different approaches such as Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Person Centred Therapy. I can offer open-ended or time-limited therapy to individuals seeking support.
My background is in addiction. I have years of experience in the voluntary sector, working in drug and alcohol services and support groups, as well as working with homeless charities and LGBT charities to provide drug and alcohol support.
I have a bachelors degree in Psychosocial Studies and I’m working towards a masters degree in Humanistic Psychotherapy at Metanoia Institute. I’m specifically interested in a humanistic style of working, for me this means person-centred and collaborative.
We can work together, in a safe, reflective space to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I can help you to address issues that are causing you emotional pain or discomfort that keep you from achieving the quality of life you deserve. As well as talking about what is going on for you in the present day, we might explore your past and relationships in order to understand yourself, your patterns and your feelings better.
