Hi, my name is Adrian, feel free to have a look to see what I can offer you as a perspective client. I am a fully qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist who offers one to one integrative therapy sessions from my private therapy practice in Eccleston, St Helens. I originate from a small close-knit town in the North West of England, where I am still a resident to this day. I have been raised within a single female parent environment since my primary school years, this has made me grateful for the values, strength, and respect, this has given me as the person I am today.

I am a positive and enthusiastic people person with a warm, caring and friendly personality who loves the job that I do. I consider myself very privileged to have helped and worked alongside so many people who have experienced personal growth in their life. 

What are the benefits of integrative therapy to you as a client?

The integrative approach I offer uses Person-Centred Experiential Therapy as the main therapeutic approach, were you the client are central to the therapeutic process with me as your therapist valuing you with honesty and acceptance without judging what life challenges you bring to therapy space. As your therapist I will work with you using personalised aspects of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to improve current thoughts/behaviours using tools, techniques, and goals for your personal growth/change, if that be within the relationship with self or/and others.

Understanding why you may need therapy at this point of your life?

It can be a daunting and scary experience to seek help and consider coming to therapy for the first time as you maybe experiencing: 

  • Overwhelming sadness due to the death of someone your close to
  • Fears that your relationship is about to or has ended
  • Sleepless nights due to worry about your children or/and family
  • Guilt because you can’t control your anger
  • Stress because of a difficulties at your work place
  • Lack of direction in your life with your future unclear
  • Worry that you are struggling to cope with your everyday life
  • Insecurities around the way we see ourselves that impact on your confidence 
  • You feel isolated and lonely due to lack of support from others
  • Pressure of life changes such as a new job or redundancy

We may not sometimes understand our issues that are causing our day to day lives to feel uncomfortable and sometimes unbearable. As your therapist I provide a safe and welcome space to explore your thoughts and feelings without judging your experiences - these can be anything you want to bring to therapy. It takes courage to reach out and ask for help, but this can be your chance to start to grow as the unique person you are.

What varieties of therapy can I offer you?

I offer Face to Face, Online and Phone Therapy at my private practice therapy space in Eccleston St Helens. The practice is a warm, safe, non-judgemental and confidential space in a quiet, residential area that also offers free parking for clients. The sessions offered to you are empathetic, confidential, and compassionate 1 to 1 sessions that involve human connection to promote inner reflection and growth. I believe that human warmth can lead to effective change by building a trusting relationship between client and therapist, were you the client feels heard and validated. I offer both short and long-term therapy with you the client being in control of the amount of sessions you have.

My personal experience of therapy

I have personally received counselling in the past with regards to grief and bereavement, and work related pressures. My personal experience of counselling inspired my personal growth, and led me to become the therapeutic professional I am today - it has been a truly life changing experience and it has taught me - "It's ok to admit when life is difficult, don't bottle your feelings up and it's ok to ask for help".

I offer a FREE 30-minute initial session (Zoom, Skype, Face Time, WhatsApp video call or telephone) prior to any paid sessions to explore your needs and wants.

£45.00 for a 60 minute Face to Face, Online, Telephone or Outdoor therapy session.

I offer reduced fee spaces (OAPs, low income, students, counselling trainees, NHS workers, Armed Forces) for Counselling and Psychotherapeutic sessions, please contact me to discuss availability.

You can make payment for sessions online using Stripe, or you can pay in person by contactless card payment or cash at my private therapy practice.

Training and qualifications

What is my training as a therapist?

I studied my initial Counselling training at St Helens College by completing my Level 2 in Counselling Concepts, and Level 3 in Counselling Skills. I graduated from Liverpool John Moores University as a Level 7 qualified Counsellor & Psychotherapist who uses an integrative approach to therapy using Person-Centred Experiential Therapy as my main therapeutic approach, alongside aspects of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) that is personalised to you the client. I value continual personal/professional development as part of my practice and have additionally achieved a Level 3 in Working with Infidelity, a Level 3 Diploma in Grief and Bereavement, and a Level 4 Advanced Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).

What is my professional background and experience?

During my professional life I have supported people to develop and grow whilst working in the education sector for 20 years, before training to become a therapist where I have practiced in counselling services in both Greater Manchester and Liverpool. I have greater client experience in relationship issues, and grief/bereavement alongside working with clients with other various life challenges such as: anxiety/depression, trauma, emotional abuse, family breakdown/divorce, infidelity, anger, work related stress, identity issues, loneliness, suicidal thoughts, sexual orientation, disordered eating, body image/dysmorphia, self-esteem/confidence issues, alcoholism and gambling addictions.
