About me
Hi, I’m Lisa. I’m an empathetic, person-centred counsellor with a BA (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling and years of experience. I offer a warm, confidential space where you can feel truly heard, accepted, and free to be yourself, without pressure or judgment. I know reaching out can feel tough, especially when life feels overwhelming, and I’m here to support you at your own pace, helping you feel safe and valued every step of the way. In our first few sessions, we’ll take time to get to know each other and build trust, moving at a pace that feels right for you. I work in a trauma-informed way, starting with emotional regulation, simple grounding tools to help you manage overwhelming feelings and feel more in control. I also gently explain how your mind and body respond to stress, anxiety, and trauma, so you can better understand what’s happening. As we build safety together, we may begin to explore past experiences, making sense of how they’ve shaped your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I’ll support you in gaining clarity, spotting unhelpful patterns, and reconnecting with parts of yourself that might feel lost or shut down. The final stage is about reintegration, finding your voice, building confidence, and discovering new ways of being that feel authentic and empowering. Together, we’ll explore self-identity, expression, autonomy, and coping strategies that support your wellbeing. Therapy is personal, there’s no one-size-fits-all. I’ll be with you every step of the way, creating a safe space where you feel understood and supported. You don’t have to have it all figured out, just take the first step when you’re ready. Feel free to reach out in your own time.
