About me

Spinning plates and constantly juggling? Need someone warm and non-judgmental to talk to and to listen? I may well be the counsellor for you. Things can get better than they are today. As a BACP registered integrative counsellor I invite you (both in person or online) to explore your thoughts and feelings, no matter how complex or painful these may be. I am particularly interested in relationship communication and how we manage the changes, challenges and adjustments that life presents us. I use a range of approaches that I feel will work for you. These include attachment-based, psychodynamic, humanistic and solution-focused. I also work for a local NHS Talking Therapy service. My clients bring a wide range of issues to therapy. Any of these feel familiar? Are you contemplating a second career, or wanting to study or retire? Do you have a parent with dementia or a serious illness and feel overwhelmed by the responsibility of organising their care? Are you trying to meet the needs of your stressed children who are right now sitting their GCSEs and A Levels? Do you feel bereft and sad looking at the empty bed of your now adult child who has gone to university or left home? Do you yearn for more time with your partner? Or crave more independence and freedom? Is it hard to accept and embrace changes your body is going through as the years go by? Do you mourn intimacy? If any of these resonate with you I may well be the counsellor to support you. Having worked as a teacher in an inner city school for 25 years I fully understand the pressures of scrutiny and intense pressure in the workplace. And now, having chosen to change direction and re-train, I am fully committed to my clients. I am here support you to be curious, reflect and self-explore. It is my hope that we forge a trusting and non-judgmental relationship. Once you contact me, I get back to you as promptly as I can. I offer an initial free 15-minute telephone conversation for you to tell me a little about yourself and your hopes and expectations of therapy. Assuming you feel we will work well together, we arrange our first meeting. There is no obligation to commit to any number of sessions at the start. Contact me. I look forward to hearing your story.
