About me

It is important to me that you are heard, that your story is told and that you are supported in reflecting on it and releasing much of the stress and hurt you have carried with it. I plan to support you in developing a life style which will support you as you reconstruct your sense of your self, and to encourage you to find a positive lifestyle and increase the energy you have to work with. I also like to help you positive relationships and the courage to take up a confident attitude to life which will increase your chances of finding supportive relationships within your community. It may have happened that in distressing circumstances boundaries have been breached, or simply that they were not established in your growing up. I would like to help you find ways of constructing a safe place to live in and to develop constructive boundaries which you have the confidence to enforce. Our process is friendly and supportive and not without a sense of humour. Sessions are challenging but also enjoyable. My interests and experience have been particularly with: Relationships, separations, couples counselling, dysfunctional family relationship work, finding a partner etc Complex trauma, sexual abuse, child neglect, abusive relationships Bereavement, Losses in relationships, Loss of employment Health anxiety, terminal illness, OCD, the restrictions of long term illness or caring.

Training and qualifications

I am a trained and experienced therapist. Basically I come from a humanistic and integrative background. I have trained and worked as an ACT therapist and as a Narrative therapy and some of this has been integrated with my current method of working. I took an interest in transactional therapy and did some training work with that. I have integrated many trainings, particularly I have worked to increase my capacity to work with complex trauma. My trainings have made me competent., my experience means that I like to modify my working so it works for each person that comes.
