About me

I believe my role is to support you in understanding your past to gain greater insight to what you are experiencing in the present. Our pasts can shape us, influencing our feelings, behaviours and our relationships, which can sometimes cause us great distress and unhappiness. Together, we would take a deeper look into your life experiences and consider how these impact your current way of being. Sometimes simply understanding and making sense of why we think or feel a certain way can liberating. By exploring this together, we can try to process and heal from that which has contributed to your present feelings, and make space for a life which is not influenced by your past. I view counselling as a collaborative process, and I consider a good working relationship vital in our work together. It is my aim to provide a safe, secure space where you can feel listened to and understood in a non- judgemental, trusting and understanding environment. I understand how difficult it can be to start this journey, which is why I offer a free 15 minute telephone call, so we can think about your needs, and consider if we could work together. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their ethical guidelines.
