About me

I am an experienced relationship and family therapist, working with adults, families and young people. Having previously worked with Relate and Tavistock, I now have an in-person private practice in Harrow on the Hill. I also offer sessions online. While relationships can be fulfilling and engaging, couples and families often become entrenched in interactions that feel distressing. Conversely, they can feel 'stuck' while thinking about events that are difficult to talk about, for fear of creating arguments and conflict. Being in a relationship can sometimes feel difficult and 'stuck.' I foster a warm, confidential and respectful space, where you are better able to understand yourself and how early experiences shape your perceptions about significant relationships. Through our work, we develop our ability to listen, understand and empathise; while helping you gain insight into why you may be feeling 'entrenched' in certain repetitive behaviours. Often, we find ourselves repeating unhelpful patterns of attachment and loss. I help you understand why these patterns emerge and how you might think about them differently, thereby building resilience for yourself and in your relationship(s). My primary clinical approach uses the psychodynamic modality, wherein we think about what lies underneath our awareness of thoughts, feelings and behaviours. However, I am also CBT and systemically trained. I may use other modalities (systemic, solution focussed and CBT), thereby tailoring my approach to your specific needs. Our work may be time limited or long term, based on what you find helpful. I am particularly passionate about understanding and working with difference and diversity. A specific area of interest is cross-cultural relationships and being culturally congruent in my practice. I support people from a range of ethnicities, sexualities and faiths. I have also supported individuals and relationships where neurodiversity is present. I also offer supervision for individual and couple therapists working with relationships. I offer sessions in person and online. Please do get in touch.

Training and qualifications

I am a Relate trained couple and family therapist, working with adults, families and young people.  I  work as clinician and supervisor with Relate and Tavistock Relationships. Additionally, I have an in-person private practice in Harrow and  offer sessions online.  I have also completed specialist training in working with couples who are separated and/or considering separation/divorce. I am particularly interested in supporting separating couples and co-parents who are considering this difficult step. Our work together will help you manage the process compassionately and respectfully, while holding children in mind. Sometimes being in a relationship can feel confusing. We may experience  conflicting emotions towards loved ones, feeling 'stuck,' in our thinking. We may fear of creating arguments and conflict. Conversely, we might find ourselves in another pattern of stuckness - repeated arguments that feel exhausting, leaving us worried about the future.  My primary clinical approach uses psychodynamic modality, where we think about what lies beneath our awareness of thoughts, feelings and behaviours, how they shape who we are.  However, I am also CBT and systemically trained and will tailor my approach to your specific needs. Our work may be time limited or long term, based on what you find helpful.  I am particularly passionate about understanding and working with difference and diversity.  In our sessions A specific area of interest is cross-cultural relationships and being culturally congruent in my practice. I support people from a range of ethnicities, sexualities and faiths. I warmly welcome LGBTQIA individuals; this is a space where your experience is repected and affirmed. I have also supported individuals and relationships where neurodiversity is present. Another area of interest is mental health, particularly depression and anxiety, which is a part of many relationships.  In addition to family therapy, I work with young people (aged 13 upward), who may need emotional support, or just for someone to listen compassionately. I have trained in CBT approaches to working with anxiety and depression, with young people and adults. I  offer supervision for individual and couple therapists working with relationships. I work with therapists in training. Iam also a qualified integrative supervisor, working with individuals and groups.
