About me
Hi, I am Dr Jo Rosenberg. I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist (CPsychol) and member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). I am registered as both a Counselling and Occupational Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I have worked in the field of psychology for a number of years. My experience includes working in the mental health sector within the NHS together with that of schools and organisations. In addition to my private practice, I currently work at CAMHS, Barnet and Haringey Mental Health Trust, working with families, adolescents and children. Prior to my doctoral training, I worked as an HR manager at ITN for several years and provided coaching and training to individuals both within ITN and other organisations.
My Approach
I offer one-to-one coaching to those who may be feeling stressed or "stuck" whether it be at work, in relationships or their family life. As a psychologist, I draw upon the use of solution focussed coaching to help clients to focus on what is currently going well and how to create opportunities to build upon and develop this further.
Solution focussed coaching helps you to clarify how you would ideally like to be living your life and enables you to discuss ways in which you can implement gradual change to make your life more fulfilling. It is an approach which focuses on the present and the future, helping you to strive towards the life you would like to be leading if your problems were solved.
Working together, I believe that for coaching to be successful, you need to take an active role in engaging and participating in the process. For me, it is not about providing a “quick fix”, but about working together to further our understanding of what is going on for you, gaining insight into how you might perceive the problem and what might be maintaining the issue. My work is tailored to suit your needs and together we would try strategies that may be most effective and helpful for you.
What I can help with
I coach adolescents, students, parents and adults in areas such as exam stress, time management, career development, personal relationships, parenting and work/life balance. I support mothers who may be struggling at home, or would like support in returning to work.
