Living our lives with awareness, possibilities and hope, gives us the tools to consider change. Sometimes we choose change and other times we have change imposed on us - both can be challenging.
You do not necessarily have to be in distress to benefit from counselling. You may be looking for an impartial, non-judgemental and confidential space to discuss issues on your mind. On the other hand, you may have reached a crisis point in an area of your life and need a safe place to talk through what is happening for you.
As a counsellor, I appreciate your uniqueness and will hold the space for you to explore what you are looking to achieve. My approach is integrative - I bring together a combination of approaches from the different models I have studied and I aim to be flexible with a variety of working methods. You may wish to talk through what's on your mind or maybe you have a goal? Maybe you are not sure what you are looking for, but have a sense of unease and want to use counselling to identify what needs your attention. Some clients feel they have lost their way and counselling offers time and space to evaluate options.
I work in an empathic, warm and engaged way. I am interested in supporting you on your journey and will ensure that your goals are kept clear and front of mind.
I am particularly interested in issues relating to:
- Family relationships: building relationships, isolation, creating family and managing difficulty
- Building self-esteem: experiences of loneliness, self-doubt, distrust and uncertainty
- Anxiety, depression and anger: including panic, phobias, worry-loops and self-harm
- Addiction: repeating of self-harming patterns of behaviour. I also work with 'Adult Children of Alcoholics/Addicts'
- Career stress and managing work-life balance, redundancy and change
- Identity and roles: mid-life questions, menopause and sexuality

I am frequently attending new workshops and courses as part of my on-going CPD (continuing personal development). As part of my membership with the BACP, I adhere to an ethical and professional framework and attend regular supervision.
Whatever your situation, we can identify in your early sessions, whether some brief therapy, or longer term counselling will suit you. Typically, sessions are once weekly at the same time each week.

Training and qualifications
My qualifications include:
- BACP Accredited Diploma in Humanistic, Integrative Counselling
- Qualified NLP Practitioner
- City & Guilds 201 in Advocacy
I am a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy) and have full insurance.
My fees for individuals are £40 per session (of 50 minutes) and concessions are available for low income.
