About Me

Due to COVID 19 lockdown I currently only offer online sessions by Skype, Telehealth or phone. Telehealth is more secure than Skype and there is no need to download a software, to join your session you just click on the link that I send to you beforehand. Even if you think it might not work for you, it is worth to give it a try. You might be surprised to see how it can work for you. Online and phone sessions can reduce feelings of loneliness and anxiety during the lockdown and helps to cope with difficult and unbearable feelings.

Unhealthy family dynamics and relationship conflicts can be very intense and stressful and can lead to domestic violence, in fact research has shown that domestic violence increased during lockdown. I currently offer online couple counselling which can help in resolving your conflicts, learn to communicate in a calm respectful, emphatic manner and restore harmony in your home. When the lockdown is lifted, you are welcome to attend face to face couple counselling sessions.

I am a Senior MBAC Accredited and Registered Counsellor & Psychotherapist and  have worked in private practise since 2002. In recent years, I have focussed on working with people with depression and all kinds of anxiety disorders like phobias, panic attacks, social anxieties and obsessive- compulsive disorder (OCD), Eating Disorders as well as trauma and abuse.

Within the spectrum of theoretical approaches, I would describe my approach as Humanistic/Integrative in general.  I work in a client-centred way, always approaching the client as a whole person.

I use Rational Emotive and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR) and Trauma Therapy or Person-Centred Counselling and Transpersonal Counselling, depending on the need of the client. I choose the most suitable approach at the assessment session as I do not believe that one model helps everyone and agree this with the client. I offer long and short-term therapy to facilitate growth, change and healing of the whole person.

In 2012 I have   completed my Diploma in Transpersonal Couple Counselling and since then I also take on couples who have relationship problems, such as communication problems, arguments, loss of emotional and sexual intimacy, or affairs as well as sexual problems. Please see more on the page Couple Therapy on my website.

Since I completed my MA in  Child Adolescents and Family Therapy in 2018, I also work with children and adolescents, but during the COVID 19 lockdown I only work online with adolescents aged 13 to 18 and young adults. If you feel your child could benefit from face to face therapy, the first session would be online with the parent being present for about 20 minutes or more. All sessions after the lockdown can be booked one month or more in advance.

I also provide clinical supervision and consultancy to newly trained and well experienced counsellors and psychotherapists.
