Tina Leslie Counsellor , N8

I am a UKCP and HPC registered intergrative arts psychotherapist in private practice. I offer long and short-term psychotherapy to individuals as well as supervision to practicing therapists. I have extensive experience working with young people and adults with a history of relationship issues, anxiety, low self-esteem, bereavement, abuse, depression, loss of desire and creativity, issues concerning sexuality, post traumatic stress, body image, self-harm and eating disorders.

I continue to work with those who are experiencing, or wish to make, major life-changes and those living with general feelings of sadness, loss and dissatisfaction with life.

I work from my consultation room in North London N8 - a five minute walk from Turnpike Lane tube station.

I am an integrative arts psychotherapist and supervisor, grounded in the understanding of earliest attachment relationships and how these are connected to people's present difficulties. I believe passionately in the importance of the relationship between the therapist and the client and finding the most appropriate way of working with them as individuals.

Training and qualifications

I obtained my qualification as an art therapist and then went on to complete the Masters in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy training from IATE (Institute for Arts and Therapy in Education). I have also completed an advanced training certificate in supervision

I have worked for many years as an arts psychotherapist in adult mental health in psychiatric hospitals as well as in private practice. I am also a professional artist

I am registered with UKCP, HPC and BAAT

In recognising the limits of everyday language in the communication of powerful and profound feelings, integrative arts psychotherapy offers an in-depth exploration of self through the use of image and metaphor as well as other art forms. Each art form provides a unique language of expression enabling insight, growth and change.

Integrative art psychotherapy is committed to the role of the imagination and creativity in psychological change. It is concerned with the therapeutic application of the arts and the creative imagination for a more fulfilling life.

Integrative arts psychotherapy recognises artistic creativity as a human phenomenon, rather than the property of a few talented people. The inner musicality, the capacity to move, dance, paint and act is acknowledged in ALL people. No previous artistic experience is necessary to work with an arts psychotherapist
