About Me

A very warm welcome to my Children's Counselling Practice.

I am a fully qualified Integrative Children's Therapist and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I provide one-to-one counselling for children from my fully equipped therapy room, based in Chiswick, West London.

I work in a child-centred, non-directive way, using play, story telling, creative work and talk, to help children express their thoughts and feelings in a way that is comfortable and natural for them.

My Integrative training means that I draw on a number of theories and traditions of therapeutic work; including Psychodynamic theory, Attachment theory and Person-Centred approaches. I believe that every child is unique and value them as individuals with their own mind, views and way of seeing the world. As an Integrative therapist, I am able to work in a way that is responsive to each child and their own needs, rather than using a single approach for all.

Training and qualifications

I have been working with children and young people for the past 14 years, in nurseries, schools and counselling centres, as well as privately supporting families and children struggling in their home environment. I have experience working with children with additional educational needs, children on the autistic spectrum and those with physical disabilities.
I have worked and trained with leading organisations; the NSPCC, Childline, One to One Befrienders and Young Carers and am currently working with a children's mental health charity, alongside my own private therapeutic practice.

I am an experienced school counsellor and have worked for a number of years in a primary school, supporting children between the ages of 4-11 and at times, assisting those in severe emotional distress.

I hold a graduate degree in Psychology, level 3 in Counselling Skills and a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling Children. I trained with the Place2Be, the UK's leading mental health organisation for children. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy; thus meaning I have met their standands of proficiency for private work and I practise within their ethical framework.
