About Me

To have found yourself on this website it's likely that there is something in your life that you're struggling with.  Many people find that speaking with an independent person separate from their everyday lives can help to give a different perspective on what they're going through, and can also facilitate a space for them to share what they're feeling with no judgement in a safe environment.

My approach is Integrative which means I use different theoretical approaches to support my clients depending on their needs and the nature of the presenting issue. My specialist area is Bereavement and Loss, where I have worked with various types of bereavement from miscarriage, illness, and accidents to suicide and homicide.  I also work with grief that is not always openly recognised as grief such as infertility. My practice is not limited to this area however and I have worked with numerous clients with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, self-awareness, identity & belonging, and relationship issues.  My experience includes coordinating a bereavement service for children and young people, working for a service dedicated to suicide bereavement, running support groups and training on how to support people through their grief.  I have also worked as a Team Leader for BUPA Psychological Services, in their EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) and as a private practitioner for a community based Counselling Service.   I also have experience of working in Primary Care for an IAPT service delivering short term counselling and Supervising other counsellor's.

The most important thing for therapy to succeed is the relationship built between the client and therapist.  I endeavour to create a safe, holding, trusting and supportive space, where we can work collaboratively. I believe with the right support we all have the potential to change the things we want to change and build a better relationship with ourselves and those around us.
