About Me

Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, guilt or shame?

Do you feel isolated because of a breakdown in family relationships, separation or divorce, betrayal by friends or estrangement from community?

Do you need to recover from the impact of domestic abuse?

Are you suffering from post traumatic stress?

Perhaps major life changes have left you feeling lost, stuck, confused, distressed and ashamed?

I can work with you to work through the mental/emotional blocks arising from your difficult life experiences. I offer you a safe, confidential and non-judgmental healing relationship which will enable you to explore and discover your way out of stuckness into growth, movement and recovery.

I am experienced in working with those who are distressed due to displacement, loss, trauma and abuse as well as adults who have suffered bereavement be it through death, divorce or broken relationships. Many of my counselling clients have suffered with anxiety and depression brought about by different difficulties in their lives, while others have struggled with symptoms of post traumatic stress.

I also work with couples or adult family members whose relationship is in crisis or those wanting to enhance the quality of their relationship.

My training specialism is integrative. This means I can work flexibly, drawing on different approaches according to my client's preferences.

I offer general talking therapies, as well as REWIND - a specific technique with helps with recovery from PTS/PTSD.

In our sessions, you will feel seen and heard because we would work in ways that suit your preferences.

If you would like to also work on practical goals such as life or career choices, as a qualified life coach, I am well placed to work with you there too.

Bottomline is: if you feel stuck, I can work with you to get unstuck.  If you feel lost and confused, I can walk alongside you to find your way.  If you feel you've lost your voice and/or your sense of identity, I can work with you towards their recovery.

Do you need flexibility?  I also offer telephone, email and video-link counselling.

Getting Started

Sometimes taking that first step can be toughest.  So first of all, well done for browsing.

The next step would be an optional telephone consultation which is entirely free. This is where we explore where you are, what you'd like to get out of working with me and whether indeed we feel we are a good fit to work together.  You can set this up by calling, texting or sending me an email to arrange a mutually convenient appointment.

During the telephone consultation*, I will listen to you and most likely ask a few questions to help me understand your situation better.  I will share with you how I work and answer any questions you might have.  You can either decide then to book in a first session with no obligation to continue or you might want to take some time out to think about it and come back to me.

*However, if you prefer, we could have the initial consultation face-to-face in person (for this, payment is required).

***There will be never been any pressure on you to make a decision***

If you decide you want to work with me, and I feel I am able to support you, we'll agree on the date, time  and costs.

If at any point you need clarification of anything, please feel free to ask.  Every question is welcome!  And so are you!

Training and qualifications

some) Experience:

In addition to my private practice, I have worked in collaboration with Hestia, a charity that supports adults and children in times of crisis.  I was part of a team that provided counselling support to vulnerable people who experienced displacement, loss and trauma in the Grenfell fire tragedy.

I have previously collaborated with Woman’s Trust and Solace Women’s Aid both of which support women who have been affected by Domestic Violence.

I am an associate with MenCASA, a project that supports male victims of Domestic Violence and false accusation.

I have also partnered with Centre for Better Health,  a community-based charity that supports wellbeing and recovery from mental ill-health.

I volunteer as a guide at Crossroads Retreats, a charity that supports individuals to (re)discover their sense of direction and/or identity when at a crossroads.

A mum to three young adults, I previously worked as a journalist, an administrator, an adult literacy tutor, a weight loss consultant and group facilitator.
