Nigel Beaumont Psychodynamic counsellor , EC1V
I have been trained in using integrated techniques with a principle focus on using a Psychodynamic approach which stresses the importance of the unconscious and past experiences in shaping our behaviour. I also have additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Person Centred Therapy and will use an integrated approach when appropriate.
We will have an initial meeting which will give us a chance to discuss what has brought you to counselling, and your objectives. I will ask you about yourself, your family and your relationships to inform me and enable me to structure our sessions appropriately. I will also ask you to tell me more about the history of the issues you are bringing, and how these are affecting you in everyday life.
I will also explain how the sessions are structured, what you can expect and answer all of your questions.
Frequency of our sessions
We will normally meet once a week at the same time. Sessions last for 50 minutes.
