About Me

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, Accredited member of BACP and a member of EMDR UK & Ireland.

How I Work: I am particularly interested in understanding how our earliest experiences and relationships with others impact our current relationships in daily live. In my therapy work I bear in mind the wider context we live in, and the social and environmental issues that affect our inner worlds.

Although my practice is underpinned by psychodynamic understanding, I do not believe there is a single approach that works for all. I aim to tailor my service to each client and integrate such theories as Transactional Analysis, Group Analysis and EMDR in my work.

My approach is warm, friendly and empathetic, yet boundaried and at times challenging. I believe a good therapeutic relationship makes positive life changes possible.

Experience: I started my career in mental health in 2009, working on a help line in a therapy centre for women. Since then I’ve worked on a psychiatric ward; for a local charity, supporting women-survivors of sex-trafficking; student counselling service at Bristol University. I currently work for a number of employee assistance programmes, the NHS IAPT counselling service and in my own private practice. For the past two years I have also been running a therapeutic group for transgender women.

Whether you are feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands, struggling with anxiety and depression, experienced trauma as a child or adult, or simply looking for self-growth and deeper understanding of yourself, I would love to hear from you.
