About Me

After a year of intensive training, I qualified from the prestigious Academy of Clinical and Medical Hypnosis in London, considered to provide the highest standard of training in this field in the UK.

The Academy of Clinical and Medical Hypnosis courses are independently validated and assessed by the National Council for Hypnotherapy, accredited by the Department of Education and are also supported by Brighton, Cambridge, Leeds, Loughborough and Reading Universities.

I am qualified in Hypnotherapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and Stress Management.  I have completed additional training  in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Psychotherapy), particularly helpful in addressing anxiety, depression and panic.  Also Weight Loss and Smoking Cessation.

I am a fully insured member of the National Council of Psychotherapists, The General Hypnotherapy Register and the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council, to whose codes of ethics and conduct I adhere. I am also a member of the Complimentary & Natural Healthcare Council which was set up with government support to protect the public by providing a UK voluntary register of health practitioners. CNHC’s register has been approved as an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, a body accountable to Parliament.

A little more:

I’ve understood the power of the mind, particularly positive thought, from my late teens. I went from a shy, self-doubting teenager to a confident young woman in just a few months, after reading a thought provoking article. The article talked about the power of self-belief, overcoming negative thoughts and becoming a person filled with self worth. It made total sense to me. Although I didn’t know it at the time I was changing my thought processes, and in doing so, my neural pathways – focussing on the positive, until my self esteem increased dramatically.

I have enjoyed a successful career, often coaching others to achieve their best, and during this time I underwent hypnotherapy to stop smoking. I went from smoking 30 cigarettes a day – to none. With no withdrawal symptoms and, in just two hours, I became a non-smoker, after having smoked for over 20 years. Following this success I decided to train in hypnotherapy as soon as the opportunity arose. When my two children had grown up, and I was made redundant, I finally had the opportunity to pursue my ambitions and become a Hypnotherapist myself.
