About Me

I can offer you my experience of working with clients of all ages who present with a wide range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, childhood abuse, PTSD,  relationship issues, loss,  self harm, and low self-esteem are just a few other the issues I have had experience in helping clients with.  I specialise in addiction issues.

I offer a safe space to chat, to be listened too and to learn to understand your difficulties.  I will support you with your problems in a non judgemental environment and tailor my counselling style to your needs. Together we work through your difficulties and make sense of your struggles and help you to make the choices you need to make the change you need in your life.  I pride myself on having good therapeutic relationships that are based on trust and confidentiality.I enjoy being with people and watching them grow in therapy, develop their self esteem and overcome their difficulties.

I’m a big advocate for counselling for children and young people. Children and young people go through so many Internal  changes in their younger years along with all the pressures of external influences that they too need a space to talk, to make sense and understand what is currently going on with them. I love this part of my work at Childline supporting young people and children with this.

I have worked in the public sector and saw how much people need counselling and how services are restricted in what they can offer.

In my work I have seen clients become lost in society or relationships and working existentially enable me to help them find themselves again and begin to put their core values and beliefs at the top of their priority list.

I noticed when working for charities that therapy offered was time limited due to funding but also noticed that the client was overcome the presenting issue in the time limited therapy, but this surfaced other issues in their lives which had been buried due to original presenting problem, this contributed to me wanted to practice privately.

I help clients over come difficulties such as isolation, depression and anxiety, I  help them discover their freedom which enables them to makes choices so they can lead a happier life.  I'm interested in empowering clients so that they can overcome their current emotional issues but also to explore the routes of what has contributed to the clients feeling the way they do.

Why choose to have your counselling with me than an other therapist? My experience as a Childline night supervisor has shown me that our mental and emotional needs do not fit into a 9-5 time frame and also with the way our society is changing our issues do not fit into conventional working hours, we have to be flexible. Therefore I have chosen to be flexible with my counselling. I have clients who have weekly sessions at the same time and I  have clients who have weekly sessions but have different times each week, I also have clients who have more than one session each week, I adapt to your counselling needs.
