John Witney
Transpersonal hypnotherapistAbout Me
I practise a transpersonal model of hypnotherapy which is grounded in Buddhist psychology and informed by other eastern spiritual traditions.
Transpersonal hypnotherapy offers a range of creative approaches for exploring and reprocessing any unconscious perceptions that might be resistant to change or that have been difficult to identify with more conventional talking therapies.
I have been a therapist for over ten years, I have a BA (Hons) Degree in Counselling, and I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I also have a Master's Degree in Transpersonal Psychology.
I started my counselling practice in 2009 and I have worked with many people who have wanted to change or accept something about themselves or their life stories. Issues that I have worked with include: anxiety and depression, loss and bereavement, relationship difficulties, work-related stress, addictions and addictive behaviours, serious illness, existential re-evaluation, and spiritual awakening.
I was also a volunteer counsellor at the Fountain Centre at Royal Surrey County Hospital for five years where I worked with cancer patients and their families as well as members of hospital staff.
