Howard Grassow
Psychoanalytic psychotherapistAbout Me
Prior to qualifying as a psychotherapist I worked as first a social worker and then as a clinical social worker providing individual, family and group therapy, in a variety of settings including business and community based organisations. The people I worked with came with relationship problems, work related problems, depression, anxiety or had experience trauma because of domestic violence. Later worked in a number of schools in London where I provide managers, teachers and other professional staff all who were working with very challenging children with group and individual supervision (a reflective space to think more deeply about their work) as well short-term therapy.
After qualifying as a psychotherapist I worked for NHS in secondary mental health community team, where I provided long-term psychotherapy as well as in primary care where I saw people for short term psychotherapy. I worked with people who presented with a number of issues including, depression and anxiety, relationship problems, personality disorders, loss and work related problems. I also continued working in schools and other community organisation providing supervision and short-term psychotherapy.
In 2007 a colleague and I set up the Yew Tree Psychotherapy Practice in Canterbury where we see individuals and couples for both long and short-term psychotherapy. We also provide supervision for counsellors and other professional people such as social workers and teachers.
