My name is Gifty, I am a fully qualified experienced counsellor. I have worked with several charities in the past 10 year as a volunteer counsellor.The support I give, will give you the opportunity to discuss and explore your problems in complete confidence with an experienced, empathetic professional.

I provide short-term solution focus counselling and also long-term counselling, if required to assist clients to identify the problem and develop a practical plan of action for resolving the issues.

Coming for counselling can often feel a bit daunting and it may be difficult to know what to expect. There is a common misunderstanding that counselling is about giving advice and you may expect your counsellor to give you some very clear direction. Whilst I may be able to provide you with useful information and offer you some suggestions, counselling is a joint process, whereby we work together to better understand your difficulties and support you in finding a way forward that seems right for you.

I recognise that there may be a range of issues or associated psychological difficulties, such as depression or anxiety that arise from day to day pressures and relationship. You may lack confidence, find it difficult to assert yourself, or be unsure of what you really want from life. Together we can look at how the issues are affecting your life and look for a healthier way of addressing it.
