Denise Ela Maley Integrative psychotherapist , WD3
Hello. I'm Denise, and I help busy working professionals to identify and resolve work affected issues impacting their wellbeing, enabling them to better realise their personal and professional potential.
I am an integrative psychotherapist and a therapeutic coach which means that I work with a broad spectrum of issues and offer a reflective space and accompaniment for personal and professional development and life transitions.
First and foremost I am with you to listen and to provide a compassionate attentive space for reflection and expression as we start to work together. I work alongside you, to help you identify the source and triggers of your issues and where there may be potential for new insights and transformation.
I have worked with a diverse range of client issues including; depression, panic attacks, anxiety, work-oriented issues impacting personal well-being, relationship issues, the experience of loss, stress, feeling stuck and search for meaning in life.
I can offer a holistic approach, to those clients open to working with the whole person and not just the symptoms or condition, and use a variety of therapeutic methods with your consent according to your needs and the nature of the issues you bring to therapy. Our work together may include working with your dreams, visualisation, guided meditation, symbols and breathing techniques.
Areas of specific clinical interest
My corporate career in HR prior to my transition to this field adds tremendous insights when working with busy professionals on work affected wellbeing issues.
As a woman, I have a deep personal interest in positive models of wholeness for women in today's society and in relation to generational patterns and expectations. I offer a reflective space to consider what that means for personal choices, boundaries and search for meaning in areas of work, relationships, mother or other, authentic identity and embodiment.
My therapeutic services are offered online (via a secure therapeutic platform) and in-person by in Rickmansworth/Chorleywood WD3 area.
Length of therapy
I offer both time limited short term (typically 10 to 16 weeks), as well as open ended on going contractual arrangements according to client need and best hopes following the initial assessment session. Often an initial short-term therapeutic focus can lead to a longer term on going therapeutic process - either way, the endings are well considered and carefully managed through periodic reviews and discussions.
I adhere to the BACP code of ethics and strict professional guides relating to client confidentiality. This is an important for all clients to be aware of as a structure of the containment and boundaries of our work together to establish trust and a private space to be open with your thoughts and feelings.
