Cristina Vergara Psychoanalytic psychotherapist , N19
I am an experienced Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with 4 years of post-qualification experience in providing professional psychotherapy services. I am a UKCP-accredited psychoanalytic psychotherapist in private practice, conducting long-term and time-limited individual psychotherapy sessions for people experiencing emotional or psychological difficulties.
I have been working in the field of mental health for over 14 years, and have worked with a wide range of client groups from a diverse set of backgrounds. Before setting up my private practice, I worked as a therapist and manager for a non-profitable organisation that runs therapeutic communities and psychotherapy for people experiencing complex trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorder, depression, substance dependency, psychosis and personality disorder.
I have worked as a consultant facilitating weekly staff support groups to help staff understand the unconscious processes involved in clinical work when working with challenging clients, and understand organisational and/or team dynamics.
I also have taught courses for a postgraduate training in group psychotherapy accredited by Middlesex University. I have conducted staff groups, group supervision and training days for multi-professional teams, and has run workshops on therapeutic communities organised by the Royal College of Psychiatrists' Centre for Quality Improvement.
I have experience in working with stress, anxiety, depression, psychosomatic symptoms, panic attacks, feelings of low self-esteem, physical and emotional abuse, bereavement, trauma, addictive patterns, relationship problems, eating disorders, and those who are struggling with a lack of purpose and meaning in their lives.
I also offer psychotherapy sessions in Spanish.
