Clare Harland Integrative counsellor , NW5
I am a BACP-registered counsellor based in Central and North London who works one to one with adults experiencing a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, loss, identity crises and relationship problems. I support people to navigate uncertainties and upheavals in their lives, reflect on emotions, behaviours and relational patterns that are causing them difficulty, and explore ways forward.
My training is integrative, so I draw on a variety of approaches, including person-centred, existential, psychodynamic and attachment-based therapies, and tailor my response to your individual needs.
My priority is to create a safe and supportive environment where you feel accepted and listened to, and where together we can explore any thoughts and feelings that you are struggling with. As part of the process we may consider how experiences and patterns from the past are affecting your life in the present, but we will balance this with a focus on addressing your current concerns. I am also interested in mind/body integration, and how our emotions affect our physical experience and vice versa, so this may be another aspect that we can explore.
Sessions are weekly and last for 50 minutes, and I offer short-term counselling (typically 6-12 sessions to focus on a specific issue), and longer-term or open-ended counselling.
If you are interested in finding out more, please email me at email@example.com to arrange an initial consultation, during which we can explore what you wish to gain from counselling and discuss any questions you may have.
Training and qualifications
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP, registration no. 179887) and abide by its Ethical Framework.
I have a Foundation Certificate and Diploma in Integrative Counselling from the Minster Centre, one of the leading integrative training centres in Europe. I am also working towards an MA/Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling at the Minster Centre, and these qualifications are accredited by Middlesex University.
In addition to private practice, my experience includes working as a counsellor:
• in a GP practice;
• for Home-Start Westminster (a charity that supports parents with young children); and
• for a low-cost therapy service.
My previous career included research, editorial and advisory work with charities and funders, and through this I developed a specialist interest in mental health and well-being. I originally studied history at university and have a BA (Hons) and MSc from the University of Oxford.
My standard rate is £45-£55 per session, depending on location. However, there is a reduced fee of £30 for the initial consultation.
I also have a limited number of concessionary places available for students and people on benefits or low incomes, so please ask if you would be eligible for one of these.
