Ana Vidal
Psychodynamic psychotherapistAbout Me
Hello, I am happy to introduce myself to you. My name is Ana and I am passionate about individually tailoring therapy to the needs you bring. Do you feel depressed? Are you anxious? Do you wonder why you feel stuck as if nothing is ever going to change? Do you carry the constant weight of past experiences? Is it impossible to strike a work home balance? Does your relationship feel difficult or perhaps you worry about an affair and your marriage? If this is you then a qualified professional like me can help.
My clinical experience is with adults, with concerns such as depression, long standing sadness, anxiety & stress, work related difficulties, fears and or feelings of underachievement, relationship difficulties, compulsive behaviour, obsessions, panic, adapting to different cultures, loss, sexual identity, gambling, trauma and abuse, death of a loved one, coping and dealing with chronic illness.
My clinical experience comes from working in the NHS,charity sectors and private practice with both long and short-term therapeutic work. My approach is psychodynamic, which means that I will be working with present and past experiences when reflecting on your current circumstances, as well as pointing out any conscious and unconscious unhelpful thoughts, patterns, and behaviour that might be leading to distress.
I have also a background in banking after working many years in the financial industry, which gives me a good insight into the issues faced by people in very demanding jobs.
I offer short term counselling (6 weeks) as well as mid (12 weeks) and longer term therapy (1 year plus).
